About the role

  • 1.0 full-time equivalent position (FTE) (Negotiable) Fixed Term 12 months

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Chief Change Officer, the primary focus of the Manager – Design and Delivery Projects (Resources & Research) is to lead and oversee the strategic development of high-quality, evidence-informed content and research that support the organisation’s mission and objectives. 

The role is responsible for: 

  • Overseeing the scoping, planning and implementation of content and research projects, or parts of projects, and adapting strategies as necessary to meet evolving needs and ensuring alignment with organisational goals. 
  • Managing resource allocation, including budget oversight and the adjustment of team resources to balance cost-effectiveness with project requirements. 
  • Ensuring stakeholder expectations are managed effectively, with research and content deliverables that meet or exceed quality standards and support the organisation’s broader objectives.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of a research agenda that aligns with organisational priorities and informs decision-making across the organisation. 
  • Establishing content and research quality standards through the implementation of a Quality Framework, with regular reviews and audits to ensure consistency and accuracy. 
  • Delivering advice and support to all functions on research, content, and resource-related matters.

The Manager – Design and Delivery Projects (Resources & Research) is a member of the Amaze Leadership Group which, together with the Executive Team, is responsible for delivering KPIs against Amaze’s Annual Business Plan and whole-of-organisation projects.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As the Manager – Design and Delivery Projects (Resources & Research), your day will be dynamic and analytical. You’ll excel at managing multiple competing priorities and effectively engaging both internal and external stakeholders. Day to day you will:  

  • Lead the planning and scheduling of various content projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and timelines.
  • Collaborate with Partner & Project teams (Organisations and Community) to develop project plans for segments of cross-organisational projects, adapting plans as needed to respond to changing requirements.
  • Oversee the execution of project plans by direct subordinates, providing tailored guidance, support, and problem-solving as needed, with particular attention to the diverse needs of the neurodivergent team.
  • Manage the allocation of resources and ensure all team members have the necessary support to complete their tasks effectively.
  • Lead and cultivate a supportive, productive, and collaborative culture within the Research & Resources team, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly.


  • Work with the Leadership Team to translate organisational priorities into actionable tasks, focusing on setting and achieving KPIs for the team, timelines, and operational goals for content and research activities.


  • Provide oversight on critical knowledge areas, communicating information gaps, emerging trends, and key research relevant to the organisation’s mission.


  • Regularly update and engage with internal stakeholders on project status, including potential risks or changes to scope whilst ensuring external stakeholder expectations are managed and delivered.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and progress reports.
  • Develop and implement a Quality Framework for the Change team, to ensure ongoing content standards and continuously review processes for all resources and content. Support other teams in adhering to these standards where applicable.


  • Establish and oversee content and authoring processes within your projects to guarantee that all materials produced are of high quality and evidence informed.


  • Schedule, facilitate, and conduct regular reviews and audits of all content within your team to ensure accuracy, quality, and relevance.


  • Co-design and implement a knowledge management process, ensuring information is effectively captured, standardised, maintained, and, when needed, versioned for various writing projects.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE (KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE)

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing the delivery of high-quality, evidence-informed content, research, or learning outputs that align with and support the organisation’s mission and objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience of managing and delivering projects, preferably within a nonprofit or similar sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining productive internal and external stakeholder relationships, managing expectations, and delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Experience of managing project budgets, including tracking hours, costing, and pricing. Proven ability to develop accurate cost estimates and manage resources efficiently.
  • Significant experience leading and managing a team. Experience in creating an inclusive and supportive work environment that maximises the talents and potential of each person is essential. 
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and management roles including establishing plans and overseeing delivery. 
  • People management skills and experience including the ability to lead the team in a way that maximises the talents and potential of each person.
  • Desirable: knowledge of co-design and consultation processes in either corporate or community settings.
  • Autistic community focused with either knowledge of, or commitment to, developing respectful communication with Autistic people and their families and carers.
